The year is 2017 and I'm turning 25 in August. I've lived a quarter of my life guys! Assuming I live to a hundred.
Started reading the old blog again at work (Yes, I have a job now. All that adulting. Sigh.) and
I'm soooooooo glad I kept all the old posts!!! Apparently I started writing the blog in 2005 when I was the most kental Sec 1 student ever. That's 12 years ago! Oh, how time flies~
Old Haz, why were you so hung up on guys not noticing you? Glad that you've grown to realise that eye contact doesn't mean a guy likes you. Glad that you've grown to realise that you don't need a man to be happy. Glad that you've grown to be comfortable in your own skin. Love thy self. It's not wrong to wink at yourself in the mirror from time to time. It's not wrong to think you have the prettiest eyes ever. Because you do. Hehe.
You've got a family that loves you as much as you love them. Parents that are the living embodiment of #relationshipgoals and #otp. A younger brother who's finally a steward and because of that you get to buy stuff overseas for him to bring back. A sister who still spends time with you even though she has a boyfriend now. You've got friends who survived the test of time. Shoutout to: Jannah and Jeannie who I've known since we were secondary school geeks for 12 years, to Nadirah who I've known for 10 years since Sec 3 and I never expected we'd grow close in IJC, to Flux who was my sister's friend's first but she's like a second sister to me now. Funny how life turns out.
This sounds like self-praising but sometimes you need that.
Fast forward 3 years since that last post in 2014.
So what's going on with life now?
This was the first photo of me in 2017 hehe.
It's the second week of January and I've been working at Honeycombers as a full time videographer/graphic designer for 1 year and 5 months. Work has been okay I guess. I feel a bit lost as to what I'm going to do if I leave the company after 2 years. I'm unhappy about being paid peanuts but the job scope, lax rules(sauntering in 30 minutes late or taking a 'sick' mental health day without having to get an MC) and my lovely, clingy colleagues are things I really like about my job. I just hope things pick up and there'll be more opportunities to grow soon. And more travel videos please! So far, they've sent me to Macao and Bali. Both experiences I'll never forget. I don't mind being comfortable at this job but as long as there are opportunities to grow.
So work done, status time. I'm still single. Like since the day I was born I guess. You'd think I'd have almost relationships or gone on dates but nope. None of that. So yeah, no first kiss or date yet. Guess my luck in the love department is really bad. That or the luck is good and I just naturally avoid being in bad relationships. I'd take being single over bad men any day. Still, it would be nice to experience a good relationship at least once. I really think I'm destined to be the 35-year old who buys her own flat and fills it up with cute af stray cats. BUT my house will be super nice okay. Have you seen my Pinterest board? And the boxes under my bed filled with vintage plates and housewares for my future home? Can't wait for my own house. I guess living in a pretty flat with cats is the dream. I'd make my flat cat-friendly for sure.
My sister is in a long-term relationship with her soulmate and they're going to get married eventually. I used be so naive to think that the two of us would do everything together. Back when she was single and I spent most of my time with her. I thought we would both be single forever but we'd have each other. So naive haha. But I'm so happy for her and it makes me believe in love. Believe that it's possible to find my someone too.
So status time done. What's coming up this week? Kbbq night with my clingy colleagues. Design team and Zak. Haha. So excited to eat all that BEEFFFFF. YASSSSSSS~
'Til next time, you ol' blog! Whenever that is. Could be another 4 years later.
Byeeeeeeee!
Penny University

A quaint hidden gem found at East Coast Road.
I paid this little cafe a visit after my sister raved about it when she went there. Apparently, there was a Taylor Lautner lookalike! Of course, I was keen to see the resemblance with my own eyes. But I also wanted to see if Penny University lived up to the hype, coffee-and-dessert wise. And it did.
It was pouring buckets of rain when me and Nadirah made our way there. After walking around in the rain, it was just nice to find shelter in a warm and cosy place. We both loved the decor and peaceful ambience to bits. (:
The array of pretty desserts did not disappoint. Mostly because I wasn't expecting to see that many pies. I did recognise that they were from Windowsill Pies though and I had always wanted to try their pies. Me and Nadirah laid our eyes on the in-your-face Smores pie and ordered a slice each. We both also ordered Hot Chocolate. Perfect for the cold weather.
Taylor Lautner wasn't in, unfortunately. When Nadirah was expressing her disappointment at that (loudly) at the counter, one of the baristas actually told her that "Taylor Lautner not working today lah, he working tomorrow". We both burst out laughing because we didn't expect him to know what we were talking about! I guess it's a known fact that Taylor Lautner's doppelganger works at Penny University. The resemblance must be strong.
Don't you love the simple decor? Plain furniture decorated subtly with colours everywhere.
The amazing Smores pie! Chocolatey marshmellowy goodness. I wish the base of the pie was made of digestive biscuits though. Instead of what tasted like filo pastry. Still, the pie was awesome.
My favourite piece of decor from the cafe: A rustic shelf of colourful billiard balls!
I would definitely revisit this cafe in the future. Not only to see Taylor Lautner in action, but because I loved how the cafe seemed like a sanctuary. A peaceful, welcoming place to sit back and relax while sipping hot chocolate. Love it.

Introducing: Ozzy & Lulu!
Wednesday, November 21, 2012
Gone since June! It's been too long.
I think that was when we realised we wanted to start Ozzy & Lulu. It all started in sweet June.
My sister and I decided to start making handmade paper goods and stationery because we thought it was doable. We were walking around town and couldn't find nice, affordable stationery. So we made some on our own! We've been selling them online and at Singapore's few artsy-crafty flea markets. Namely: MAAD and Public Garden. There's a new one called Handmade Movement coming up in January '13. I'm hoping it would be something like the Renegade Craft Fair.
There really needs to be more art markets in Singapore. I was checking out KL's handmade craft scene and they have a ton of markets. It makes me jealous. We're heading there in December to check out the shops and source for potential stockists! Really exciting. (;
Anyway, we're hoping to run this business full time in the future. With an actual physical shop and everything. Big dreams.
In the meantime, here are our modes of contact:

Cafehopping: Drips Cafe and Tiong Bahru Bakery.
Tuesday, June 05, 2012
A day out with my dearest sister. The first cafe we went to is called Drips and the second, Tiong Bahru Bakery. We both expected the latter to have a 'cooler' name because the ambience and the design of the bakery was really sophisticated.
First stop: Drips Cafe!
The interior of the cafe. I really love how white it is as a whole. So clean and crisp.
Treats for everyone!
Ma belle soeur.
So we decided to try the Cinnamon Egg Tart. It was served cold, much to my disappointed. I would have liked it better if it was served warm.
Next stop: Tiong Bahru Bakery! I really love the various graphic designs of the bakery. Simple but beautiful.
We ordered the Chocolate Croissant, Mixed Berry Crumble and Sugar Brioche. All for about $10!
That's a happy me.
The lunch crowd.
Their drink menus were printed on tote bags. I love that!
Generous amount of sugar on the brioche.
Mixed berry crumble. I thought this would be sweet but it turned out sour so I was a little disappointed. The crumble part was nice though! Buttery goodness.
Oh, Chocolate croissant. Oh damn. My favourite of the three. Chocolaty, buttery goodness. Salivating as I type this.
Satisfied.
Chinatown.
To wrap things up, I would most likely be making return trips to Tiong Bahru Bakery for their chocolate croissant and for the bakery's atmosphere. (:

So.. life has been mostly about cats and food. Two of the best things ever.
Here are my cats: Ozzy, Luna and Lulu.
Ozzy is the striped prince.
Luna is the black beauty.
Lulu has eyes of gold.
I love them all so much.
I love braids. They make anything look summery, don't they?
And Dr Martens. I love them too. I just feel that their boots go with any outfit.
I've recently started Instagram-ing. Because they made one for Android users. I love it.
Taking moments and showing it to the world. Except 'moments' means pretty things, silly cats and lots of food.
Food. I can't imagine living without it. Well, because you just can't. I am obsessed with food. Not in a 'food expert' sort of way. I just love eating. Tasting delicious food, discovering new flavours.
I'm the sort of person who would rather splurge on food instead of material things. Oh, food.
